My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health

I support Movember because too many of my mates have suffered from cancer or mental health issues. Movember really speaks to me. The people at the Foundation are sensational and I want to do everything I can to help them stop men dying too young.

Whenever I get a donation I make sure I thank the wonderful person who has been so kind to donate. This year, and today a few times, those wonderful people have chosen to make their donations anonymously.

Here’s a small post to say a special THANK YOU to everyone who has donated and especially to those lovely folk who have done so anonymously.

Good on you!

G'day everybody and welcome to "The Scotts" MoSpace. I'm Scott Poynton - Scotty P, the handsome fella on the left in our photo above - and you might be here because you've supported my Movember adventures in the past. And you know Finn, the hairy fella, bottom right and my keen walking buddy. The other fella? That's Scott Williams - Scotty W! Scott's an Aussie too and a massive runner. He walks with me on my annual Movember treks and last year as we headed up La Dole, we dreamed up a new challenge for 2018.

It’s M184.life and it means LOTS of walking. We’ll post more info here but this year it's going to be BIG!

See ya,

Scotty P

It was something of a blizzard on top of La Dole for this last, the fifth Movember 2017 Walk and Talk. But it was a lot of fun and we got a great sense of achievement when we got back to the car 12 hours and 20 mins after leaving at 7am in the morning!

287 Week(s) Ago

We had a load of snow on the Fifth Movember walk and talk this year and some good friends joined me all the way to the top. Here's the first of two FB Lives videos we shot on Dec 29th, our last full 45km walk up the mountain for this Movember

288 Week(s) Ago

On my 4th walk...how about this view?

So great to get to the top of La Dole with you Scott! Thank you for inspiring so many people to walk across the world for men's health

289 Week(s) Ago

And this was the FB Live we did just after the start of the Swiss leg of the Global Relay!

289 Week(s) Ago

Here's another FB Live video we did...this was the second one of the day...after we'd walked 8.5km from the Lake we arrived in Gingins, the village where I live. So many people joined us there that the video kept getting longer. But it's fun...hope you enjoy it!

289 Week(s) Ago

How about this for a view? This is what we saw yesterday from the top of La Dole.

289 Week(s) Ago

Here's the FB Live video we dod from the top of La Dole yesterday in the howling wind! Beautiful views of the Alps though and with a sensational group of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas!

290 Week(s) Ago

As well as the FB Live we did on the top of the mountain, I made one on the way up. I hooked up with Michael Pescott in Oz who will start the first leg of our Global Relay next week. It worked really well until the phone collapsed because of the cold weather! Next week we'l have Oris people with us plus two fine folk from Movember Foundation as we roll out that Global Relay. Will you walk with me? It's going to be fun!

Meeting the Mountain

This time last year I wrote a blog post to convey why I was walking. As I prepare for my second walk this year, I thought that I'd share it again.

Big Big MOVE today. My first Movember 2017 Walk & Talk from the lake to the mountain and back again. 52,284 steps, 44.1km, 1,472m ascent and descent, just short of 11 hours on the go. The weather was absolutely brilliant and the views of the Alps from the top, featuring the magnificent Mont Blanc was breathtaking.

And I'm doing it again next Wednesday...and every other Wednesday (all 5 of them!) this month. Grateful for the inspiration of any donations you feel you can make to the cause.

Walking&Talking with the Oris team in preparation for Movember. Join me tomorrow in Nyon!

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
